Default Fresh start

So I started NROL nearly a year ago. Unfortunately, life happened and I wasn't able to spend as much time in the gym as I would have liked to.

I began by doing the beginner workouts for a few weeks. My weight was 144lbs. Then I moved on to Hyper I. Great workouts. I loved it. Only made it to the gym about 2 times per week, on average. After 2 weeks, I had put on 12lbs and weighed 156lbs. It took me longer than usual to complete Hyper I, but I weighed 162 when it was over.

I should state that I have always been lean; usually around 6-9% body fat. For the past year I have been right around 8%. My goal is to add strength and muscle. Original weight goal was 165lbs. 165lbs now looks like cake. I think 170lbs is reasonable.

After Hyper I was finished I began Hyper II. It was great, but I missed doing squats and couldn't find enough time to get in the gym. Summer started. Things got even more busy. Couldn't finish Hyper II. Took a 3 week vacation to Vietnam/Thailand and didn't get much exercise at all. Weight fluctuated between 154-157 with sporadic workouts.

Since the beginning of August I have been playing catch-up by repeating the Hyper I workouts that I enjoyed so much. Usually do not do any abdominal work with upper or lower body. Instead I take 45-60min on a separate day for planks and swiss ball work.

My weight is back to 160lbs and I feel much stronger. In fact, I can still squat 225 at the end of a 5x5. But it's almost time to begin another program. Not sure that I'm ready for the Strength programs. Think I should wait for that until I stop getting my newbie gains?

What do you all suggest for my next endeavor? Again, my goals are strength and mass. I'm also planning on starting a fitness journal. Will post a link here after I start it.

Are you looking to stay with NROL? If so, why not just keep eating and do one of the strength workouts?

5'6.5" at 165 and 8% BF. Damn, that's pretty solid bro. Congrats on that

Thanks. Yeah, it's a good weight for my height. But I know that I have a lot more potential.

Maybe I will do Strength I to see how it goes, then do Hyper II.

And I plan to stick with NROL. Good stuff.

Yeah I would just do one of the strength programs. No reason not to at this point . Good luck. You seem to know what you're doing. Keep up the good work.
