Default Bodyweight hotel room workout ideas?

I'm Ohio next for business and I'll be pretty busy but I'd like to do something in my hotel room. Pushups and crunches are pretty obvious, and those things where you go down to a pushup and then jump into the air. They have a funny name like "tards" or something. (EDIT- Google reveals they are called "Burpees").

I'm at the tail end of FLII right now so I want to do something besides just have a week off.

Like squatting with a suitcase or something? I'm trying to come up with some bodyweight exercises but I'm drawing a blank. I know I did a ton of them in the Army, but that was a long time ago.

Planks? I've never tried them but I've heard of them. And I heard they were hard.

caveat: most bodyweight exercises seem like high-rep exericises. Like you have to do 50 of them to feel it. I'd prefer something lo-rep, where doing 10 or 20 is really hard.

any ideas?

do one legged squats - plenty hard enough for low reps.

Airborne lunges come in between these two extremes.
For the other exercise options you mentioned both front and side planks would work wonderfully.
You can always elevate your feet if push ups are too easy.
Any lower body exercise would be hell with some small weight overhead (backpack for example? )
Good luck and congrats on staying active

LOL!

I feel like a "tard" when I do them!

All of the above, I also did stepups onto a sturdy bench on a hotel stay recently.

T push ups are good too.

Hindu squats (they are high rep)
Hindu pushups
Bulgarian split squats (they are low rep, at least for me)

Another option is to bring a yoga or pilates DVD that you can play on your laptop computer (or on the TV if the hotel room has a DVD player).

And most hotels have at least a little workout room with a treadmill, bike, and universal machine. And if it's in a nice location you can run around the town and explore.

You can also pack some resistance bands in you suitcase and get in a resistance workout as well.

Its Dayton, Ohio to be specific. I was thinking about bringing some jogging gear to check out the city, but I will be travelling with a jolly rotund older dude who also wants to sightsee, but probably in a more comfortable fashion. I fly in on Monday, fly home friday so I will only really be there about 3 days, and only my evenings will be free, but if anybody knows of anything cool to do in Dayton I'm all ears.

oh- and thanks for all the suggestions!

- SL squats
- Handstand pushups - if you can't do those, put your feet on a chair and bend at the hips (like a plank position), and do them that way
- Close grip decline push ups
- Elevated planks (as previously suggested)
- Dive bombers
- SL supine hip extensions
- Inverted rows (if you have a bar?)

If you want to run some killer hills, take Mainstreet South past downtown, until it becomes Far Hills Avenue. You're basically going uphill for 5 miles.
