Cool FL I - lateral roll and rotational lunge

I spent some time today "practicing" the Fat Loss I exercise, trying them out for form, comfort and poundage. Concerning the lateral roll on the swiss ball: how much roll is there supposed to be? The book says"Roll as far as you can to the left, so all your weight is supported by your right shoulder on the ball." Huh? I don't get what I am supposed to be doing here at all. Where am I supposed to feel this, abs, chest, shoulders? None of the above?

When I did the rotational lunge, I found my outside foot/leg angling out to support my rotation. Seemed to be a natural movement and comfortable, as opposed to keeping that foot straight. Right, wrong, or it really doesn't matter?

Thanks in advance to those who reply.

SB Lateral Roll - you end up with half of your torso unsupported (off the ball). The "feeling" or "motion" that you are training in the exercise is the resistance to rotation - that is, you hold your body still and horizontal (resisting gravity) - and then repeat over on the other side. The dowel, if you use it, is to help you notice if you are letting things dip rather than stay straight.

We used to have a good video around (there are many bad ones around) but I don't know where it went.

So are both of those ways of doing it okay?
