funny story:
every time i ask someone to spot me on this exercise i get asked:
- are you working triceps ?
i say. no i work my chest. i just a closer grip.
- i don;t think u'll do it right...
hmmm.
so how close is good?

I believe the book says the thumbs should be 12 inches apart.

Close for me is thumbs grazing my ribs, ie wrists remain parallel means no strain.
