Default Wide Grip Seated Row

Hi there-
I'm working on Fat Loss II and was doing workout A tonight. I was approached by someone at the gym who thought my grip on this exercise was too wide and was concerned about injury.

I wish I knew the dimensions of the bar I was using. It has two D-shaped handles on the outside of it. The bar is definitely wider than my shoulders and puts my arms at about 45 degree angles out in front of me.

Anyway, how wide is too wide on these exercises? It felt okay to me, but thought I'd check this out with you all.

Thanks!

I use the same kind of bar for this exercise rather than the standard pulldown bar. I prefer the neutral grip afforded by the D-handle for the wide seated rows. I think as long as it's not uncomfortably wide you should be ok.

That's just plain stupid.

A "trainer" once told me that I was going to injure my knee on the back leg while doing bulgarian split-squats because it's "bending past 90 degrees." I guess the fact that it wasn't carrying the load didn't matter.

Good thing no one ever kneels and sits on their heels then.

I was unaware that the human knee didn't have the ability to bend past 90 degrees. I must be a freak. lol

Yeah, that was my sense too. She was polite and genuinely concerned, but not informed I don't think. Glad this forum is around.
