Just checking. Nothing strange about the movement. It's good training for rotational stability. Where are you having trouble?

I'll admit, it is kind of strange. It took me a couple workouts to get the hang of it, but I agree it's great for core stability.

Don't give up. Make sure that your feet are planted firmly and wide enough to keep you stable. Tighten up your core and keep the ball beneath your shoulders while you're performing the movement.

Ok, I will just do it! I have done NROL in the past and this exercise just felt weird. I have returned to NROL because I had shoulder surgrey on 3/11/09. I started back with the break-in workout. This is my 2nd week. I will next go to FL I( and yes I remember those BSS with overhead presses). This is a good starting point for me since it is heavy on the legs and a little lighter on the upper bod. Do not laugh but on the DB overhead's I am only using 10 lbs. It is a bitch I will tell you. But I have to restart some where. I have never posted on here much at all but I hope to change that....I look forward to chatting with more of you guys.

Short History on me:

age 51
been playing tennis for 36 yrs and started lifting in my early 40's
I read and study every thing I can get my hands on exercise and nutrition.
I had bone spurs remove and a dislocation...I have lost alot of cartilage in my rt shoulder

Thanks for taking the time to read,

Larry

That exercise is an odd one that digs in deep when the form is good. There is some method to Cosgroves madness.

SILOS has the right idea, keep the core straight.

Is there a video or something I can look at to get the correct form.

The farther out on your arms you can go, the badder ass(er?) you are. Also, keep the pressure on your shoulders, not your neck (not the best video).
