Default Fat-Loss I

I have three Break-In workouts left that I will finish in Tues 5/12. From there I will take the next 5 days off to recover and practice the exercises for Fat-Loss I. The problem is that my gym does not have a seated cable row. What can I do to substitute?

I'd say a bent-over barbell row is probably the best substitute.

You could alternatively do a dumbell row, but make sure that you focus on pulling your shoulder blades together; otherwise these are unlikely to effectively work your middle traps.

Glad to hear that you like the program. Fat loss I begins for me next week and I plan on doing the entire 52 week program. I will be around here from time to time so keep us posted as to how things are going.

I just finished the break-in program last Friday and am on the week off. How is FL1 working out for you (charlesd and shwillkd)? Did you change your diet during the week off or just keep going with what you were doing before?

I ran into a similar problem because the seated cable row machine was crowded. What I did was went to the cable machine and set the pulley to the third position from the bottom. Place a 45 lb plate on the floor between your feet and the machine and set it up as a makeshift cable row machine. I got the idea from the picture in the NROL book for cable seated row.

P-man: The set increase from 2 to 3 was tough but the 75 sec rest period make in doable. I was eating below maintenance before and will continue to do so. I have actually been drinking the TNT Diet kool with some success so I'm going to stick w/ that. I have zero cables in my gym. The closest I have is a cybex row machine which I move the chest pad all the way up so that I don't use it and have to brace w/ my core.
