Default Knee injury just before starting NROL

I was planning on getting back into the gym with NROL in the next week or two after being pretty inactive since last summer other than a soccer game a week.

Last Wednesday I messed up either my ACL or meniscus - not sure which, I go back in this week for a check up on it. I was able to start walking lightly on it three days later, but it's still pretty tight and not ready for any real activity. I imagine it will be a few weeks at least.

Obviously I'm not going to be able to do squats, lunges, or anything else that's hard on the knees for a little while, but I really want to get back into the gym soon and start burning off what I put on since I stopped working out last year.

I was pretty excited about getting back and going hard over the next few months, then this happened.

Is there anything I can do other than fix my diet to get the ball rolling until my knee heals? I'd really like to start getting some exercise as soon as possible.

Any tips would be awesome!

Upper body, but check with the doctor and physical therapist.
