Question Does asprin/Advil, etc interfere with hypertrophy?

At the top of page 222 of NROL, Lou says:

"...following a workout, some amount of inflammation is needed to make your muscles repair themselves with new protein. If everything's working right, you have a net gain in muscle tissue."

Things like asprin and Advil are anti-inflammatory agents. So if we take one of these, does it un-do the effect of the workout and prevent muscle gains?

I sure hope not. Sometimes I have a joint ache or headache or something, and I really want to take an Advil.

More a problem, i think, for frequent use and large doses of meds, not for the occasional headache or joint issue.

Usually my thoughts are to take something if actually needed (why let "bad" pain/inflammation happen in the name of protecting gains?), but not bother taking anything for DOMS, just suffer that out.

"We conclude that a moderate dose of ibuprofen ingested after repeated resistance training sessions does not impair muscle hypertrophy or strength and does not affect ratings of muscle soreness."
