Default LUNGES...ugghhhhh!

I have been weight training since November and just started "The New Rules of Lifting for Women" last week. I am loving it and really feel like I am working hard. My current issue (LOL) is I stink at lunges. My balance is horrible and my flexibility worse. I am strong enough to hold db weights but not coordinated to keep my balance. The two workouts that I did...I started using db and then switched to just body weight in an attempt to keep my balance better. A big part of the problem is I have a nasty plantars wart on my foot and it affects my balance.
I guess my question is "Am I better to just use my body weight and complete the 15 reps or should I use db even though I am loosing my balance and just try to do as many as I can?".

First of all....welcome. You might want to visit the NROL4W forum, as this is the forum for the original NROL.

As for lunges, and any exercise for that matter, you want good form first before adding weight.

I was surprised to have trouble with wobbly legs when I first started the lunges too. what I did was to do all the reps on one side, then the other, rather than alternate. After a few sessions doing that I was fine alternating. Oh, and welcome!

That is a good suggestion. You could do them split squat style all reps with one leg and then switch legs. This would probably help you build up some of the balancing for lunges.
