Default Weight-assisted pull up machine

The weight-assisted pull up machine: helpful, or the next installment in the "machines we hate" series?

I used it to go from zero to chinups in 30 days. There are other ways to do it, but it's a tool you can use. It's a tool that you should use to get to chinups, then wean yourself off.

It's better than the lat pulldown machine if you are trying to work your way up to doing regular pullups, at least I think so. It's closer to the feel of a regular pullup than the lat pulldown at least.

if you can get some bands and do assisted ones with bands. they mimic the pullup much better than assisted machines. people tend to just raise their legs to get themselves up to the bar on the machines.

you could also try inverted rows or rack chins where your feet are supported and you aren't pulling full BW
