Smile Starting NROL

I went to the book store the other day just to skim through NROL. It will be a Christmas present to myself. My one question is this: I will finish the TNT workout a week before Christmas and I'll take a week off to give my body a rest. I know in the book the statement is made that Alwyn would like everyone to begin with the break in phase (my apologies if I have the phrase name incorrect). That I did the abs diet workout for a couple months and then the TNT program from begining to end should I be so bold as to skip the break in phase or should I follow the plan as suggested. I'd like to jump into hypertrophy 1 if at all possible. I'm not looking to drop weight so much. I've gone from 225 to 170 over the last year doing martial arts, the monkey bar gym online, and abs online. Now I'm moving towards the second part of my transformation with the goal of getting bigger - 180-185. Thanks for any and all advice.

Give the break-in try. It prepares the body for the upcoming workouts. Make sure you are at exhaustion at the last rep, given your present physical condition.

I would skip break-in if it were me. Sounds like you've got a solid foundation going on.

I really like the TNT workouts and I do think they would give you a good foundation. The TNT workout I'm looking at has your squat progression as goblet squats to front squats, and your dead progression as hip extensions to RDLs to more hip extensions. If that's what you've just done, then I suggest you do the NROL Break-in long enough to get you back into back squats and conventional deads.

Hypertrophy I has a whole leg day, with squats, deads, Bulgarian split squats, and step-ups all in one workout. That's gonna be a big adjustment from TNT. Why not do the break-in, with back squats on one day and deads on another, for at least a couple of weeks. You'll brush up your squat and dead technique before you get into H1. Reread the recommendations for an intermediate lifter on how to use the break-in program and do something similar to that. You can cut it short if you think you're ready to move on.

Default NROL

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I'll use the period in which I was planning on taking a break to do a short stint in the break in phase. I would have been extremely bored doing nothing between the two plans anyway.........
