I was wondering what can i subsitute with a rack deadlift since my squat rack is too high in order for me to do the range of motion that is intended.

Can you rest the bar on stack of plates to get the bar higher up?

How much too high is it? You can put plates on the ground to stand on, or something like adjustable steps (Reebok steps). Or, if you have two boxes or two chairs, you can pull off of those. Depends on the weight, of course. 200lbs? Yes. 400lbs? No.
