Default Fat Loss II- Front Squats

I have been doing NORL for two months with my fiancee and we are loving it. I have been reading this forum for the last month and have really enjoyed all the insightful information others have to offer.

Recently started the Fat Loss II program and we are having some issues with the Front Squats, they really hurt our wrists both times we have done them. Has anyone else experienced this? Any tips? Or any alternative exercises? (I hate to ask for an alternative as we have been strictly by the book so far, but it has been a painful experience both times).

Thanks,
