Default Dumbbell Chek Press Question

Hey all,

Anyone else find these pretty tough going? Its the initial lift that I struggle with. With normal dumbbell shoulder press I can usually manage around 25-30kg on low rep days but today with the chek press, 20kg max! (sorry all the weights are in kg in my gym)

It must use your shoulder/triceps in a different way from what I'm used to.

Any advice?

Rich.

It places a lot of the brunt of the lift on your anterior deltoids and minimizes the middle deltoids involvement so it definitely is a lot more difficult when you take that portion of the muscles involvement away, but it is an amazing and effective exercise regardless of the weight you use. I personally use much less weight doing the chek press as opposed to the classic shoulder press. Hope this helps!
