what is the reasoning behind such a low volume and frequency for H-2 legs? I'm thinking about modifying it but i wont if theres some good logic behind it.
I was sort of wondering that myself. It almost feels weird, especially coming of H-1, where my legs were destroyed. I'm not really complaining though because my upper body needs some serious work.

are you doing it now?
its weird because not only does the training frequency for legs drop by a lot but also the volume of each workout drops a lot too. only 3 exercises for legs...and 4-5 for upper.
i like the emphasis on upper but like i said it's actually going down some from h-1. the only benefit i could see for it would be extra recovery since legs arent getting hit that hard. i think i'm going to keep it on a 7 day cycle but add in another leg day.
opinions?
Yeah, i'm doing it right now. I'm on the 4th workout for legs. 3 exercises does seem to be too few. I mean deadlifts, and step-ups/lunges, doesn't seem to equal squats, deadlifts, step-ups/bss from hyp-1.
I toyed with the idea of adding a day of just squats (front squats maybe), in-between exercise C and A. So, I can definitely understand wanting to add in another leg day. The only reason I haven't added any additional leg stuff, is because in the back of my mind I keep thinking, maybe it's like this for a reason. But i'm just as stumped as you.
DAY 1 horizontal push/pull
DAY 2 lower body quads dominant
DAY 3 OFF
DAY 4 vertical push/pull
DAY 5 OFF/abs
DAY 6 lower body hamstrings/hips dominant + calves
DAY 7 OFF
My results have been ok. It's so tough to tell sometimes, because the set/rep schemes change often (both within Hyp-2, and compared to other NROL routines). But, I can definitely tell that my endurance is increasing with hyp-2. Is my leg strength increasing? The jury is still out on that one.
I am definitely seeing muscle growth/strength with my upperbody. But I guess that's expected.
Are you thinking of dropping NROL, or just adding in a day to it?
I think I might stay with the routine as is. Because as I look at Strength-I (my next routine), it looks like my legs are going to get destroyed again. It really doesn't look remotely fun. Plus, I only have 4 weeks left anyway.
i do plan on sticking with NROL, just adding in another leg day. i guess i'll use the same rep/set scheme for the added leg day but personally i'm not fond of having 4 different rep ranges. i mean it's hard to tell if your progressing at all in the first 4 weeks in that case
i was wondering the same thing also, i start h2 monday, and i was wondering on my off days it wil be ok to play soccer.. since my legs are not getting as much pounding like h1
I am just finishing Hyp 3 this week. I would be moving on to St 3, but I am training for a marathon and don't feel that a heavy lifting program would be good to do next. I will probably switch to one of the fat loss workouts. Any suggestions on which one?
