Default Tagging out on NROL...

I have been doing the hypertrophy workouts, and enjoyed them alot and was planning to move on to the strength workouts, but realized they require 1 set max's... I workout alone, and not comfortable doing them alone - so moving on. Anyone suggest a good workout for strength? I was thinking of maybe Westside for Skinny Bastards?

How is WS4SB any "safer" than NROL Strength? You're still doing one-rep maxes at times; otherwise, you're sandbagging. FWIW, I workout alone and got through NROL Strength just fine.

You gotta' figure out a way to do Strength I - you'll make big gains, and in my opinion, it is the best workout in NROL. You've made it through so many of the tough programs , you need to reward yourself by doing STI. Trust me, you'll love it.

You can be cautious with the 1-rep weights - it doesn't necessarily have to be your "max". In reality, a 1-rep set is no more risky than the last rep of a 10-rep set. Give it a try, but start low.

I don't know much about westside. Rippetoe or Stronglifts might suit you; they're both based on sets of 5 reps (SL has 5 sets, Rippetoe 3.) Neither uses 1RMs, but I don't really see the safety issue with NROL strength. Maybe it's the racking and unracking on the bench with the heaviest weight you can handle. If it's failing on bench, then you've got a problem with any strength program unless you've got a power rack. At least make sure you don't collar the bar when benching.

The max efforts in WS are 3-5 for the most part...
I might give the strength programs a go anyway, just a bit too cautious I guess...
