Default Finished Hyp II - Next Step... Injury

I was planning to start Strength I this week, but got laid up with a knee injury... Any tips on what I should do next? I have been out of the gym for 2 weeks now and wanna get back to it, even if it means skipping the legs for a couple more weeks. Should I go into Strength I or just do some general weights for upper bod until the legs are 100%.

I was in the same boat a few weeks ago - after I finished H-II I had just enough ache in my back that I didn't feel confident pushing the weights with S-I yet. So I decided to put off S-I for about 6 weeks (including rest weeks).

As I see it, what you do next depends on where you are in relation to your goals. For me, I ended up with an extra inch of "hypertrophy" around my waist, so I decided to split up FL-III into two parts, 28 days each, with S-I in the middle. So far, I think it was a good decision for me - my back feels great and I got rid of all that extra fluff. I'll be starting S-I on Monday, so we'll see how it goes...

If you still have knee pain, you won't be able to do the 1 rep squat and dead sets. A strength program would be contraindicated for someone nursing an injury. What would make a whole lot more sense is to plan a rehab program, something like Bulletproof Knees, and do that consistently until you're knee is 100%. The program could contain upper body work designed to maintain the muscle mass you have, but the focus of the program should be improving movement patterns so that you won't hurt your knee in the future.

Thanks - will check out Bulletproof Knees - sounds right up my alley! I am setting up a couple sessions with a personal trainer at my gym to work out the bumps this week.
