Default Hypertrophy III

Had a quick question about Hyper III. On the explosive exercises, are you supposed to drop the weight so you can lift it faster?

For example on the bench press my usual 3 rep max is 160lbs, but that would mean I usually lift with lots of effort and slowly. If I wanted to do it explosively should I then drop it to lets 140lbs and then lift fast?

Quote, "you'll lower the weight under full control-three seconds- then, without pausing, lift the weight as fast as you can-with good form." Use what ever weight you can, while following those parameters.

Further question...

Why, one Routine A, Workouts 1, 4, 7 and 10 are there no dips and db cleans? Would one be just too beat up to do them from the six sets of four?

I think I figured out why... I'd still be there if I did them as it would take a long time to complete those workouts with the two minutes of rest.
