Default Integrating Cleans into Strength I

Hey, I have just started the break on and plan to go onto Strength I when I finnish. I have been lifting for a couple years now and i really like the clean. Also another reason I want to integrate it into my workout is because I play lacrosse and like to keep explosive movement like the clean in my workout that I feel help me with it. I was also wondering what you thought about switching the shoulder press for the puch press for many of the same reasons.

I would sub the power cleans for rows or add them to a day with no dead lifts or rows.

I wouldn't completely sub push presses for presses since push presses neglect some ROM (the leg drive will get the weight off of the shoulders and the shoulders, back and triceps will take over later). Perhaps alternate them if you don't think the power cleans are sufficient to take care of explosiveness.

You should look at Power Training by Robert dos Remedios. Written for the athlete by a college S&C coach. He incorporates explosive moves into every workout.

Barnes*&*Noble.com - Books: Men's Health Power Training, by Robert dos Remedios, Paperback

I started following the workouts from Power Training about 2 weeks ago and I am really loving them. The explosive movements are something that I have wanted to incorporate for a while and these routines do it perfectly.
