Question Rest after Strength 1?

Do I need a one-week break after Strength 1? Most of the programs advise a 1-2 weeks break but I don't see anything about that in the Strength programs except after Strength 3 you're advised to take a break.

Are you using any of the templates like skinny guy, overweight, etc...?

If not, the Strength I program is only 4 weeks or so, right?

It depends on how long you've been working out, when your last break was, and how you feel.

I'd reccomend taking a few days off before starting the next program. Have some fun, play some basketball. Unless of course you really feel you don't need any rest.

Yeah Strength 1 is 4 weeks since I did the workouts 4x a week. My last break was probably before starting S1, and I don't feel burnt out so I'm wondering if I should have 1 week off anyway or proceed to S2. If I take the 1 week off, I'll continue with the interval training anyway.

If you feel great, then you might not need a break. But if you take a week off, you'll have stronger, more healed muscles for strength 2. I'd take a week off myself and probably end up in the gym after 5 days off out of impatience.

Hmmm thanks ... I guess I ought to take the week off. Honestly it makes me really restless during the week off :-/

Same, I doubt I will succeed in taking a whole 7 days off. It will probably end up being like 5.

Raymon, I wanted to be sure you saw Lou's post in this thread: week off

Take 5-7 days off, but use them to do enjoyable activities. Keep going to the gym if that's what you enjoy. Use your time there to do mobility work, bodyweight drills, etc. You'll come back to your strength workouts energized and ready to go.
