Default FL1 Makes Me Sick

Hi,

I am not new to lifting, or to full body workouts, but am pretty new to NROL. I have been doing Fat Loss 1 for a few weeks and I have to say it is killing me. When I get to the second superset group I start getting nauseous and it does not go away until I am home having my post workout protein shake. In addition it is messing up my head so bad it is difficult to drive home after the workout. I am breathing throughout all of my sets and I eat pretty clean. Does anyone have any advice on how to reduce the nauseousness?

thanks!

It's called metabolic disruption and is unfortunately fairly common. It's why my wife named her training log "Vomitastic". The fat loss programs did the same thing to me as well.

What I can say is that for both of us it got better with time as our conditioning improved. You said you've been at it for a few weeks -- any improvement at all so far?

It is hard to say if there has been any improvement. Today was the first time back in the gym after being sick with the flu. Needless to say, today was pretty rough

No helpful suggestions, but I'm right there with you!

I say just make the nausea your friend. Try one of these handy slogans:

If you don't feel like puking, you know it's not working.

You're building a better you when it makes you want to spew.

OR

Working hard will make you nauseas; that's the point, don't be cautious!

Just, you know, don't actually puke. Unless you have a bucket.

How long between your previous meal and your workout?

Sometimes I get that way with intense FL-style workouts too...it's worse for me on an empty stomach (previous meal 4 hours or more ago) or a too-full stomach (meal within the hour). For that reason, I usually try to schedule my workout for 1.5 to 2 hours after lunch.

To echo the others, it could just be conditioning too.

I've felt that way before if I didn't have something to eat beforehand. That and lack of water while lifting. I sweat a lot, so I need to replace a lot of water.

I plan out my pre-workout nutrition and follow it to a T. I hydrate myself accordingly during workouts. Yet still, every FL1 workout makes me question why I'm doing them again....I love the workout!

By the end of many workouts I also find myself ready to puke, passout, ect. I love/hate that feeling, but it shows I am really working hard. Keep up the good work!
