Default Snatch Grip Deadlift

The picture shows regular grip. I've been using a mixed grip because the amount of weight I can use is significantly less with regular grip. I saw a couple older post saying straps, mixed etc. Do you think the grip has any affect on the muscles it targets?

I used a mix grip when I did the 6x3 and sometimes on the 5x6 days. I tried to do as many as possible with a normal grip, but when I needed to I switched it up. I don't think it really matters. The point of the snatch grip is widen the arms putting more strain on the delts I think while still keeping form.

The wider grip sure does make the lift seem a lot heavier. I don't think a mixed grip has any effect on the muscles that are worked, but I still alternate which hand is supinated on each set just in case. I also force myself to use standard grip as long as I can so my grip will strengthen over time - so far I can usually hold up to about 2/3 of my max before I have to switch to mixed grip...

Yeah thats what I was thinking. I will probably try to use a regular grip on the lighter sets for as long as I can like Tcoy was saying.

Mixed grip on a snatch-width pull sounds like something I'd not try. I've always used straps for those once they get too heavy.
