Default HYP IB $^%#@

damn Cosgrove and Schuler 15 reps and 30 sec rests.

&*^%$$

I've been able to complete HYP1 B with the 60 and 75 sec rests and A in all cases with lowered weights but B is impossible sticking to 30 sec rests. I have to do it 1 more time and I'll lower my squat and DL to 45 lbs and the BSS and stepups to body weight if needed to complete this workout.

I tried tonight with 135 for squats and DL and 20e for the BSS and stepups but almost puked after the first superset and had to go to bodyweight and still only got 1 more set of each after 1-2 minutes of rest.

The good news:
There were two women in the Y free weight area doing kickbacks and curls with the pink plastics wearing styish sweatsuits who scuttled away when I moved the trash can over to my work station

Should use that tactic everytime I go to the Y.

And no I don't go to Redlefty's Y.

thanks for listening to my rant

John

I don't think the squats and DLs are supersetted. That would be too much stress loading on the lumbar area. I think it's straight sets.

And as for the SUs/BSSs, if you have to do them as BW, then do so.

Awesome motivation for my 1st Hyp 1 - B workout tomorrow! My gym is usually packed with ladies wearing lots of gold jewelry and makeup on Saturdays, can't wait to blow chunks in their direction.

The Squats and DL's are listed as a superset... Augh!

I don't have the book in front of me but I am almost positive Squats and DL's are straight sets not superset. I finished Hyp 1 about a month ago and I did them as straight sets. It would be to hard to load and unload the bar in 30 sec.

The good news: They are definitely straight sets!! This seems to come up about once a week here.

The bad news: the bss - step-ups are supersetted. Have fun .

Thats what I thought. If I did these as supersets I don't think I would have finished Hyp 1. The step ups and bss were bad enough.

Default I didn't supetset the squats and DLw/shrug

I can't imagine what super setting those would feel like.

The problem is the deads as 3x15 gets the heart and lungs really pumping and then right into the BSS/stepups with no real rest is a killer.

Think the smart move is to lower the weight and focus on form in the DLs then start with low weights on the BSS and add more only if needed.

The 30 sec rest probably adds to the grief, but I've done 3x15 on deads more times than I wished I had.

It is definitely NOT a superset, checked the book, the confusion might be from the downloadable excel sheets on here, they list it as a superset - glad I saw that before my workout this morning, at 60 sec rests I am busted!!! Not looking forward to the 30s! The workout took a while, not used to being in the gym that long, I didn't give myself enough time and had to drop the last rep and used way too much weight and had to drop to bodyweight for a few... definitely one of my more discouraging workouts... but we'll get 'em next time tiger, right?
