Exercise Order
I'm doing Hypertrophy 1,
i'm enjoying it, but i was wondering if i could/should change the exercise order.
I've always had a good chest, but rubbish shoulders, so by the time i've belted out heavy inc db press, my shoulders can only handle tiny weights in the second superset.
Would it be better for shoulder development if i did them first?

I think you should stick with the same order. You're shoulders are getting some work with the inc db press, then you finish with the shoulder exercises, and they will be totally fatigued, therefore, will subsequently grow.
You should do the bigger exercises first. In this case, the shoulders provide some support during the bp's. If you did them first and they were wiped out, you may not be able to support as much weight on the chest exercises.

Ditto
I ditto what Hunter said. Alwyn had a purpose in putting the order together. If anything is lagging, it'll catch up with a little time. I say stick to the plan.
Wish I could say I had a great chest and rubbish shoulders...

Thanks for the reply guys, but, not meaning to cause an arguement, i'm not sure whether i'm with you on that one.
I know my shoulders will get fatigued, but as you pointed out, i'll be using a proportion of my delts in db press, plus my triceps, so i can only lift tiny weights for shoulder press.
If i want to focus on shoulders, surely the way is to priorities them by using them first when they're not inderectly tired?

Look at your last thread starter:
Calling advanced lifters
And then ask again.

is that you trying to say, shut up and give it a try, in a nice way?
i suppose because i have been doing the total opposite for so long it is hard to let go and try something new

Not exactly. You said you came from a body part split style program and now that you're changing methodologies, you think it's causing injuries.
Now, you're wanting to move parts you want to focus on to the front...in essence, you're starting to drift back to the body part split methodology again.
In a way, I am saying do it as is, but asking questions is the best way to learn.

Alwyn's program is designed to appeal to the average lifter. If you had an injury, you'd change it. If you need to prioritize something, you can change it, too. If the incline bench was taken by a herd of bros, you'd change it.
Flip flop the two supersets, not just those two exercises.

Now there's some wisdom...
Lost Dog,
THAT sounds like a good plan. It's not changing the program and it helps Massiveian accomplish some of what he wants. My $0.02.

Just incase anyones interested....
I've just done hypertrophy 1, workout a, the 15 rep session.
I switched the first superset with the second, so i did shoulders and back prior to chest and back......
It did feel a lot better!!! I could lift more on shoulders, making them feel more 'worked' (although i never seem to feel shoulders in the same way i do other body parts), then when i came to chest my front delts and tris were already partially worked forcing my chest to work harder, honestly felt great! Lets just hope it works!

WhoooooHooooo...isn't that great? It's a great feeling when you make a change and feel the difference in your workout. Excellent.
