Default Cardio and NROL

What's the deal here? I just started this program and haven't found any info on HIIT training or cardio in the programs? Should I continue to do 2 HIIT sessions per week like I usually do?

I don't have my NROL book with me, but Lou covers HIIT/Intervals in the book.

I don't have my book either but I do recall that it is in a seperate chapter than the workouts and that he gives a suggested HIIT schedule and recommends to do it after the weight workouts (but it is optional).

I believe Metabolic Overdrive is on p. 87.

How do you incorporate HIIT without wearing out your legs for leg days?

Thanks

You start recovering quicker and you seriously stop being sore after a bit. Does make a week or two unpleasant though.

Ya, I am finding it hard to gear myself up to do a HIIT session after a workout: 1) I am worked, and 2) I am rushed for time. I have been squeezing 2 sessions a week in on my days off, but even then its tough to do without making my legs tired for my next workout or giving them proper recovery time between weights. I am on my feet all day at work, moving, so last thing I wanna do when I get home is run.

Just started Strength 1 and I am following up my sessions with Metabolic Overdrive Week 1 on the non-leg days, ie. the days that have benchpress and chins. The step-up and static lunges turn my legs to jelly after the big lifts.

But I'm hoping after the second week of Strength 1 when I'm more adjusted, I can incorporate an extra interval session into one of the leg days to make it 3x/week instead of the current 2x.

If you don't have time for the intervals after lifting, then just do them on your non-lifting days. That will work just fine.
