Default Hi - just starting out here.

I mistakenly added my introduction post as a reply to Astacun - sorry about that astacun! I'll "repost" it here. Hopefully I have it right this time!!

***

Hi all - I just bought both of Lou and Alwyn's books (Cassandra also - NROL4W) and absolutely love them. I've never done any writing on forums or blogging so forgive me if I have this post in the wrong area. I'm computer savvy in other areas, just not this stuff yet! I'll learn.

Although I'm female, I'm going to start with the Fat Loss programs in the NROL as an intermediate. I've classified myself as Lifter #4 (Serious about Lifting, but seriously overweight.) I've lifted off and on for years and have about 14 pounds to lose, so although not "seriously" overweight I thought I would give this a try before I did the NROL4W.

I just wanted to say and I've enjoyed reading what everyone has had to say.

Take care!

Welcome to the forum. You'll be starting a training log in the Training Log section of the forum? I'd suggest starting with the Break-In program as the book suggests, at least a few times, to get you used to this style of lifting.

Doing the Break-In for 2 times a week for a month helped me a lot! I suggest it.

Thanks guys! I'll check out the Training Log section. I'm still trying to figure out how to manuever in "forum space!"

I did my first day of the break-in yesterday and my thighs are screaming today!! I've been working out, so it kind of shocked me. I was surprised at how little weight I could lift doing the two point dumbbell row with elbow out. I kept wanting to move my arm from my back to my thigh - I suppose that's a way to cheat though, so I left it at my back.

Have a great night/day/morning (whatever time it is when you see this!!)

PS
Lou Schuler is great! I sent him an email & he got right back to me!!

Welcome to NROL hell.

You'll want to stock up on epsom salts, get a foam roller and learn SMR. It will help with the DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness).

Yeah, even Break-in is brutal, and the only thing that gets better as the book goes on is the body composition.
