Default New here...have a question

Hey guys. I'm new here and have a question. I started NROL 3 weeks ago, based on the "Eternal beginner" program. However, instead of doing 2 workouts a week, I went for 3 (well, it only worked out that way last week). Anyway, as of today I've finished 7 out of the 8 rx'd workouts, and will be finishing number 8 Monday next week. So, my question is, do I do a full week next week, take a week off, and then start FLI (which I guess would come the day after the Super Bowl), or do I finish the 8th workout, take the rest of the week off, and then start FLI on the 28th? Some people (at the other forum I frequent) have even suggested skipping the week off, considering I hadn't done any exercises (weights or cardio) for about a month prior to beginning NROL (due to life/stress, not an injury) - would that be okay as well?

Thanks.

You can take a break if you want to, that's up to you. I find that if I break for a solid week I'll be so sore when I start again. I know I'm not going to stop, I'm just going to continue on. I also do three a week and I'm still in Phase I.

Welcome! I was working my way through NROL Eternal Beginner, too. I have since switched to NROL for Women, but I had gotten through Break-in, FLI, and FLII. If I were you, I would do that last workout on Monday and take at least a few days off and then start FLI. It's a tough program, especially Workout B! Have fun!

Those people are not thinking too deep about the problem. That's a typical "bro" response. The week off is more for tendon, cartilage and bone repair and build-up since these connective tissues don't benefit from protein.

Also, if you lifted properly hard enough, you'll want to give the CNS and peripheral nervous system some down time as well.

With that being said, you don't feel like you're starting from scratch when you take a week off?

Lou talks about this on page 124 and pp 126-127 of NROL4W. Breaks are a good thing for your body!

I suggest going with this option. Cynic is right on with his comments.
