Default confused about the layout of hypertrophy I, help!

so I'm reading the book with my boyfriend & we are both a little confused about the layout, im sure im just over complicating it..
its laid out like this
exercise name
workouts # # # #
workouts # # # #
workouts # # # #
and there is a part A & B both laid out similarly.
my confusion comes from..does that mean both part A & part B are to be done each 3x per week? or can you mix it up as much as youd like? as long as you are doing upper one day and lower another without training for longer than 2 days in a row (per the book) for example
week one do workouts 1a/b & 2a/b and then week two move on to workouts 3a/b and 4a/b? which would be a total of 4 days of training.

please help!

one workout per day. lift anywhere from 2,3 or 4 days a week - never more than 2 days in a row. You do them in order:
1A, 1B, 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B, 4A, 4B, 5A, 5B, 6A, 6B, 7A, 7B, 8A, 8B - so 16 total workouts

if you left 4 days a week:MTThSa
Mon=1A (reps from 1,5 row) Tue=1B (reps from 1,5 row) Th=2A (reps from 2,6row) Sa=2B (reps from 2,6 row)
next week
M=3A (reps from 3,7 row) Tu=3B(reps from 3,7 row) Th=4A (reps from 4,8 row) Sa=4B(reps from 4,8 row)

if you workout 3 days a week MWF
M=1A W=1B F=2A
next week
M=2B W=3A F=3B
and so on

thanks so much! i knew i overcomplicated it, but i understand now that they have the plan laid out sort of flexible so people have the option of working out 2 or 3 or 4 times a week pending on their schedule & there is no set in stone rules about how many days to do the program & its up to the person doing it, thanks!
