Default Dynamic Lunge?

What is meant by lunge "out"? Do you lung forward and back with the same leg?

Yes.

Say you're working the left leg. Step out with your left. Once placed, lower your right knee until just above the floor or it just gently taps, the push off with your left leg and return to the standing position.

Do that for as many reps as prescribed.

Does this make it clear or do I need to reword it?

I'm not clear on what you're trying to convey.

It is a forward movement and a return to the starting position.

Ah, I think I know now what you're trying to say. No...say you step forward with your right leg. The left leg stays in place.

You'll bend it, obviously, but you do not lift or move the leg that stays behind.

Is this making it more understandable?

Also, this is a mistake I made for a long time, once you place your forward foot, DO NOT CONTINUE TO PUSH FORWARD! You should lower down at that point.

Thanks! I get it now. I wa thinking a dynamic lunge was a combo of forward and backward lunge with the same leg.
