Default HIIT vs Met Overdrive?

Is there a difference between HIIT vs Met Overdrive? I usually do HIIT -- after 5 min warm -- do 20 secs all out run (as fast as I can without my legs ripping off) and then 1 min slow down (usually fast walk) and then repeat for about 25 total mins. It seems that the Met Overdrive is similiar but the timing is more and in my case the all out run wd be slower because I wd do it for a full minute as opposed to 20 sec.

I'd think it's the same idea, just different configuration of work and rest times. The change up might be good as it will give a different stimulus for your body to adapt to.

To me, I think there is a significant difference. 'MO' is what Alwyn calls it in the book and I believe is simply a type of interval training. HIIT on the other hand, at least the way I understand it, is very short bouts at your maximum effort. Is 'MO' intense and interval based? Sure. Is it HIIT? I'd argue not.

This is were the definitions differ in my head...there is no possible way, as you stated for yourself, anyone could run/bike/swim/etc. at max effort for one minute. Although you're doing interval training, it's not "high intensity" (ie - max effort).
