Question Deadlift Shrug

Hi,

I am not sure I was doing them correctly. Are there any videos around that show the proper form?

What I did was when I am at the top of the deadlift I do the shrug. Then lower just like a ordinary deadlift.

Here's an ok video of a deadlift with a shrug:

YouTube - Dead Lift Shrugs

But a much better video, if you can get around the difference in name, is Coach Hatch teaching the clean pull. What he's showing is the same thing and this is how it should be done. Click on the clean pull video:

That's a much more violent jerking motion than i've been doing. Seems like that would be bad for your neck.

I don't think that you'll create any neck issues from this movement. Just think of Olympic lifting. That's the starting motion for all Olympic lifts.
