Default View points are always different... what do you think?

I always read everything I can purchase about fitness or get in mags... One thing that drives me nuts because I like both ways and it seems that most people are either one way or the other.

What do you think?

Slow very deliberate, zero momentum weight lifting or faster more explosive weightlifting?

I have been trying to be slower... like 5 seconds up and 5 seconds down... it has definitely made me more ripped!

I have read and been told on several occasions that it is best that the lowering of the weight be slow and controlled while the lifting portion be fast and explosive. One of the reasons I have discovered is that the body can handle much more weight on the lowering part of the exercise and intentionally slowing down the lifting part puts unnecessary strain on the joints.

Can anyone clarify?

Cheers

Lots of schools of thought. It all depends on your goals. All will work...for a while.

The first time I slowed down my reps, I got good results, but I stagnated quickly. The best results I've ever gotten have been with full-speed reps, including traditional powerlifts and Olympic-type moves.
