Default Favorite routine from NROL

Which routine was your favorite so far? So far I've tried H-1, H-2, S-1, and I started S-2, but I got a knee injury from attempting to squat too much and using bad form. So far my favorite was H-1 by far. Maybe it's because it's the first program I tried in NROL, but I just really liked the way it was layed out.

H-1 for me

How about everyone else?

I liked S1 too, but that's where I hurt my knee. I was doing 175 lbs squats in H-1, then in S-1 I figured I'd just load up the bar with 235 lbs., then 245 the next week, then 255 lbs. the week after. My form wasn't good enough to just jump up 50 lbs. in one week. Other then that S-1 was a good routine. I think I like S-2 a bit better then S-1 though (even though I can't do the squat routine until next week).

So far I really like H1. I am only on week one, but I can see where this is going to be fun. I love the idea of different reps and rest for each workout. I wont be a fan of the 3x15 Workout B though, as most would agree. 4x10 for the first time was tough to get through!!

Ya, since you're just starting out, you will see very quick gains with H-1.

That's why it's the very last workout in the program. lol You know you're going to finish, but you're going to have to earn it.

S2, then H1

I just hate high reps. My favorite programs are 5x5 or those with similar rep ranges, say 4-6. Then the accessory stuff can be higher reps, but lower reps on the main lifts is just way more fun.

But don't you have to do that workout 4 times to complete H1!!!

Yes, which means that every time you want to bump up your numbers (25%, 50%, 75%, 100%) you're going to have to get through a 3x15 leg workout as your last one.

Squat day in S1 made me feel like a giant barrell of monkey turds. That bulgarian split squat/step-up superset after the squatting is just plain wrong.

HA!

I guess I don't remember the pain...kinda the same reason women go through pregnancy more than once, I guess.

Man my brain must have blocked that pain out! I totally forgot about that session in hell. I take it back, S1 sucked!

So far I've only done two of the programs. H1 was awesome, those bulgarian squats are so damn hard! But I have to say I'm loving H2. I love all the leg workouts, never really did too much of that before.

It's funny the gym I go to is downtown in a big city and they only have two squat racks. And they're always free.

Two choices from the ones I've done:

Fatloss II. It ALMOST like Fatloss I. And those itty-bitty differences KILL

Strength I. Amazing gains.

I haven't really gotten through enough of them to really pick a favourite but from the general reactions to them here it would seem I am not the only person to be cursing Alwyn with every gasping breath mid-workout

I haven't worked it out yet but I am convinced you can re-arrange the letters Alwyn to form Lucifer, Satan, or Devil

Just finishing up S-1 right now and have loved it. Like some others, I've been shattering PR's just about every day I've been in the gym on that program, and, surprisingly, have added some LBM as well.

Bulgarians + step-ups are hellacious indeed, though heavy lunges and Romanians on DL day are no picnic either.

I've been on and off the NROL workouts since the book came out (I have fitness ADD). Haven't done the fat-loss workouts yet.
