Default First post - love this forum

Hey, I just stumbled across this forum today. I was actually signed up for the old JP Fitness forum, but I wasn't getting any responses on that site. It looks like the forum moved.

Anyway, I've been doing NROL for 6 months, and I love it. I'm doing "the guy sho considers skinny an insult". I finished H-1, H-2, and S-1 so far. I'm taking this week off and loving it. I'll be starting up on S-2 this upcoming monday.

I'm sure I'll have a bunch of stuff to talk about so you'll be hearing from me a lot.

Glad to see another NROLer. How's your progress been?

Thanks everyone. My progress has been great so far. My strength increases have been great, and I've gained a ton of muscle. I never did a single deadlift until I started doing NROL, now I'm doing 295 for reps!!! My squats are okay, but my form isn't the best so I'm going to lower the weight and work on my form. Basically this program has successfully helped me gain tons of muscle and strength and lose some fat even. I like it. I try to get other people to do these routines on other forums, but some people just don't want to give it a shot. Their loss.

I can't wait to start strength II on Monday!!!

Welcome Irishman! Glad you re-discovered us.

When you say you signed up at the old JP Fitness Forums, are you talking about years ago or just recently? I may still be able to find your old profile if you were on this one and merge it with this profile (if you had any posts).

It was maybe 3 months ago, but don't worry about it though. I only had like 3 or 4 posts or something. No one was responding, so I just kind of gave up on it. I didn't have a profile or anything.

I'm glad I found this site though, because I'm always looking to talk about NROL. Suprisingly, not too many other people have tried the program, nor are willing to give it a shot on other bodybuilding forums. Most people are doing a 5-day split, or a push/pull/legs split or something. Rippetoe's starting strength routine is a popular one too, but NROL is not very popular for some reason . It damn well should be!!

It is... It just depends on where you are (on the Net). It's not big with bodybuilders because bodybuilders are generally ignorant about training methods.

It's very popular here, obviously, but I'd also disagree with you because the book has been out for - what, 2 years now? - and it is still picking up new users, and is often cited as one of the best all-around books for the new and experienced lifter.

Ya, I guess just from my experience with other bodybuilding/lifting forums it's not very popular. No matter what though, I'm glad I found this forum today where everyone will know what I'm talking about when I say "strength II".

Today at my gym, I spoke to to guys about the NROL book. They had never heard of it. I explained some of the programs and how it's working for me, and they both said they're interested in getting it. So, the more the word spreads, the better I guess. But sometimes, being exclusive is fun.
