Default Help, HT II is not working out for me

I finished HT I and had good results. I gained approximately 6-8 pounds of mostly muscle. I moved on to HTII and not only am I not gaining weight anymore, I feel like my bodyfat is going up. I wouldnt be too worried if I was gaining some fat as long as i was also gaining muscle but I'm not. My plan was to finish HTII then do some fat loss but I feel like I'm not getting anything out of HTII. I eat 3 good meals a day plus supplement with Cytogainer in between meals and a casein protein before bed. Anyone have an idea for whats going on?

Aside from the actual workouts, what are you doing differently now from what you did during HT1? More workouts per week? Less workouts per week? More food/less food? Any sort of cardio on off days? More sleep/less sleep? Stress at work/school? If everything is similar to what it was like before, perhaps it's time to change something. Maybe these workouts are more demanding on you, perhaps you need to eat more food.

What makes you think you are gaining fat? Clothes fitting differently? If you are staying at the same weight, and lifting regularly while still making gains on lifts, I doubt you're going from muscle to fat.

It's probably diet related.

Use fitday to track your diet 100% for a week. If you are wanting to gain weight, you probably just aren't eating enough, or enough of the right stuff. I know you say you are eating "good" and suping with protien, but it really helps to look it over on paper. You are probably just to a point where you need to really start dialing it in to get to where you want to be.

Check out the following articles. They sum up nutrition pretty well. Nothing ground breaking, but a real good overview of a general nutrition plan.

TESTOSTERONE NATION - Nutrition for Newbies, Part 1
TESTOSTERONE NATION - Nutrition for Newbies, Part 2

From the sound of it you are on track already. I bet if you just clean up things a bit, you will be amazed at the results.

The main differences would be

1) I was using a creatine supplement during HT I and am currently cycling off of it right now.

2) I switchd from using Muscle milk (High fat low carb) to Cytogainer (Low fat High Carb)

I also am doing HT II program 3 times a week as opposed to HT I doing two upper body and two lower body workouts per week. Going off the creatine would obviously make my muscle growth slow down but I dont know why I'm not gaining anything and dont feel as cut.

Muscle milk has quite a few calories, if I'm not mistaken, due to the fat content.

So, you've reduced calories...

Oh, and your cycling creatine, which is unnecessary.

Actually one serving of cytogainer has more calories than muscle milk. I believe I am actually getting more calories now than I did before.

How do you know you are gaining fat and no muscle? How do you know you gained mostly muscle before?

How many calories were you eating on HT1? How many on HT2?
