Default Substitute for Close Grip Bench Press in H1

As the topic states, I'm looking for a substitute for the barbell close grip bench press in H1. The things that have been suggested so far are doing the press with hands facing each other, and elbows close to the body. Also, diamond pushups were also suggested. Anyone have any others? Thanks in advance for replies.

I like both of the suggestions you've already gotten, especially the neutral-grip bench press. If you've got a decline bench you could even make that a neutral-grip decline bench press. Is there any reason those won't work for you?

Ah neutral grip - I was trying to think of that, but just couldn't. I think that one of the benches has a little decline on it, so I might try it next time I do the upper body. I guess I felt awkward doing the neutral grip bp (first time doing it though) and I wasn't feeling particularly eager to do pushups. Thanks for the help, I'll look to see how the benches are configured to see if I can do a decline version.

why can't you do the close grip BP? shoulder issues or equipment issues?

While my left shoulder has been bothering me, it's an equipment issue. The corporate gym I work out at has no barbells. (Nor power cages or squat racks)
