Default Rotational Lunge in FT1

When the routine requires 15 reps, is that 15 lunges per leg? Or, 8 and 7?

Is this supposed to be static or dynamic?

I've been doing them as a walking lunge.

If you're doing the warmup routine in NROL, they're already a part of that.

Holy crap! These are much more difficult than I expected.

Today was my first FL1 workout...did the static lunges 2x15 in the break-in workout so I didn't figure walking rotation lunges 3x15 would be too much harder. Started out with 20 lb dumbbells and managed to finish the first set. Realized there was no way I could keep that up and finished the last two sets with just body weight.

My hip flexors and quads are burning now!

Rotational lunges are a walking lunge, but if you don't have the space, do them as in place.

Wait until you do the bulgarian split squat in workout B.

Now, THAT sucks. The most painful and unpleasant of all the FL1 exercises.

Lou also posted somewhere that the best way to do these is with one dumbbell held at the chest vertically so as to avoid banging the DB into your leg when you rotate ... yes they suck, but they are great for working/improving your balance ...

My basement allows just enough space to get in four or five strides. Then I turn and lunge again four or five times, then turn...

I'm always glad at the time that I work out at home, as lunges must look awfully funny. (Though maybe not as funny as swiss ball lateral rolls with broomsticks. )
