Default Afterburn

Hi, I've lurked here a bit for awhile. I've just completed Fat Loss II and have really enjoyed the workouts. I've only lost about 10 lbs but have seen a big difference in the way my clothes fit. I'm not really concerned about the number on the scale anymore since I know that being muscular I'm going to weigh more. Anyway, I have been doing the Eternal Beginner program and should go on to Hypertrophy I ... I think. I've heard lots of good things about Afterburn however and that it includes a nutrition program. I currently do BFL and have looked into Lyle McDonald's flexible dieting. I'm not great at counting everything I eat, but in the end I think I eat well. I can usually tell if my workouts stink that I haven't eaten enough or by my clothes if I'm eating too much. Anyway wanted opinions about Afterburn ... if I should move on to it or stick with NROL. Really just trying to get the diet ironed out.

Afterburn is written by Alwyn as well.

How bored are you with NROL? Do you need something totally new? Have you stopped progressing? I generally don't recommend hoping around from program to program just to try something new if you haven't worn out the current program. You'll just be spending more money and still working out. However, if you aren't seeing results that move you toward your goal on your current program, than move to another.

I hear good things about afterburn also. I haven't checked it out, but I'm seriously challenged with NROL, so it's sufficient, for now.

And as far as diet...Alan Aragon is one of the best authorities on eating and he says you really shouldn't have to bother counting calories. Just eat sensibly.

No, I'm seeing great results w/ NROL. The scale has not moved very much, but I am getting compliments on the way I look and have dropped a few pants sizes. I've lost 10 lbs since April. I'm 5'4.5" and weigh 131 now. I guess I'm already pretty lean. I'm in a size 4 now if that even means anything anymore. Just that NROL didn't have a lot about nutrition and I wondered if Afterburn was worth the money considering I heard it had a nutrition program as well. I thought it may be close to the same program as NROL since Alywn wrote it too. I've heard it may be the next step after NROL. I'm on my 2 week break from the eternal beginner program and am getting very bored just doing cardio. I'm sure when I start back w/ NROL I'll get excited again.

If you like AC's workouts and want more nutritional info, there's the TNT Diet, as well. AC wrote the workouts and Adam Campbell and Jeff Volek did the diet. The book is primarily diet related, but has great workouts, too.

Also, the "sequel" to NROL of lifting is coming soon (December 27th). NROL for Women.

Sounds like NROL is working well for you, but both of these books will offer you more info, as well. And the workouts of all of them will work with any of the diets advice presented. Very complimentary.

As tough as it is, I'd suggest doing Fat Loss III after FL II. Hypertrophy I seems a heck of a lot easier having done FL I, II, and III before it.
