Default opinions on tempo/program

I've owned TNROL for quite a while and got a lot out of it...first, it helped in adjusting my focus on lifting in general for a few months. Helped me get pretty much completely away from isolation exercises and split body-part perspective when approaching a routine design. Then, I finally realized that maybe I should try out some of the actual programs so I did. And now I've worked through the break-in program and have a couple weeks left on the hypertrophy-I program.

I've had terrific results and feel great. I love how strength is worked in and as always the metabolism is driven insane (<== first wrote 'pretty hard' then had to rethink that) (3x15's).

But, here's my thing...I'm not sure I'm really ready or want to work-out with tempo-play...so, I'm looking at switching out to another program altogether or moving forward to H-II and ignoring the tempo adjustments. I think down the line a little bit I'll probably be ready to train and implement tempo adjustments, but right now I'm really not feeling that. So, I'm tempted to move forward with the normal tempo as the design of H-II probably compliments H-I and builds off of it.

So, do you guys think without obeying the tempo adjustments the routine for H-II would not be as productive and perhaps not 'as' worthwhile to do? and, anyone out here that has taken this approach care to share their experience? thx!

Do the concentric as fast as you can and the eccentric under control and all will be right with the world.

I agree with Roland (again, lol).

You'll still get a whole lot out of the program even if you elect to ignore the tempo prescriptions.

Default thanks

thanks guys...I kind of knew that and a part of me wanted to hear otherwise cause I'm a bit smitten with a new book by remedios that's out now..the structure of the work-outs you design there look real good. BUT, I love the results I've gotten so far with these routines. so, I will ride out H-II and go from there.

Do the workout that motivates you to get in the gym. Being excited about your program is important too. Without consistency, no program will work. I'm sure Dos' book is good too and using a menu-style program can be fun. It's certainly possible to program hop too much, but when you finish H2, start Dos' program. It's all good!
