Default How much Hypertrophy can I do?

Once I finish with all three hypertrophy programs, is there any reason that I shouldn't just start them over again if I haven't built all the muscle that I wanted to yet?

Or should I do the strength workouts since strength and muscle growth go hand in hand. Am I going to grow as much on those plans?

there's somewhat of a reply to that on p201 of the book.

you should decide if you want to go back to H1 when you're done with H3... If you're consistently making gains, and if your sole focus is on hypertrophy, then I don't see why you shouldn't continue with hypertrophy programs (provided it's been 12 weeks)

but if you're not making that much progress, then you need to think about why, and perhaps doing another type of program may be more beneficial at that point.

I think it would be best to move to a strength routine for a while, and then switch back to hypertrophy. This would allow you to lift more weight on the hypertrophy program, and in turn, have greater gains. Also, I believe Lou mentions in the book that muscle gains can come for people who have not done low rep training before. Also, Alwyn incorporates some hypertrophy/recovery training in both strength 1 and 2. I gained both strength and size doing those routines.

I'm making pretty decent gains right now so I'm happy although I remembered reading that you needed to space out the routines so I wasn't sure.

Thanks

I'd suggest doing Strength I. You can get through it fast (4 weeks if you work out 4x per week), it's a lot of fun to move big weights, and your max lifts will go up fast (at least they are for me). I've got to believe that some hypertrophy is also occurring, but even if it's not, pushing up your max lifts is a ton of fun!
