Hi all,

I should probably introduce myself first. I am a huge fan of the NROL book. My copy is thoroughly read and looks like it. I started this last year and made some good gains. I began at 150 and ended up at 170 in approx. 6-8 months. I actually remained pretty lean too. I'm about 27 years old now, and I gain quickly and lose even faster if I don't supplement protein and eat regularly (which isn't normally a problem because I am always hungry). I cycle to work daily, so that burns a lot of fuel.

I lost most of my gains in a matter of months due to illness, but luckily I've recovered fully and am ready to begin working out hard once again.

My first question is this: How many of you take a full week off after the the break in period? Is several days enough? I have such great momentum and inspiration now that I saw results the first time that I'm afraid I'll lose the momentum if I rest for an entire week.

Thanks,
Nick

While it can be hard to force those rest periods, they are really important to take. Some of the best gains in strength and growth are made during those rest periods.

I know personally I always do so much better when coming back from a break because I missed lifting so much. So take the break, your body will thank you.

I know you're right. I just wanted to confirm. I know from my many readings of the book that the rest is just as important as the exercises themselves.

Thanks,
Nick

Welcome to the forum Nick. You should start a training log so you can track your progress and we can encourage you along the way!

One of the speakers are the conference reminded us that much of our weight lifting does us no good at all, think it was Charles Price.

I've got one more lift left in break in. I will have ZERO problems taking a week off.

This plan is killer. I've got the old man walk every single time I leave the gym.

Break in is NO JOKE.
