Default Hypertrophy and basketball?

I've been doing NROL Mon-Wed-Fri and playing basketball Tuesday and Thursdays. This seems to be working for fat loss, but do I have to stop basketball if I want to gain muscle when I move into HTII in a couple of weeks?

Also I read somewhere in this forum that I shouldn't change my diet from calorie deficit to surplus overnight. My maintenance is around 2400 and I've been eating around 2000. I was thinking of going to 2800-2900 for HT2. Does that sound reasonable? if so, over what period of time should I make the transition? Over my break week?

Thanks

Most recommendations I've seen are to up them about 250 calories a day for a week and then keep doing that until you reach your caloric goal.

Thanks Defiant1, I'll try that gradual increase.

Any advise on mixing basketball with HTII?

Thanks

I don't think you have to worry about it. Basketball is like interval training - periods of high intensity then coasting a little bit (at least if you play like I do ). I think you wouldn't want to play much past 60 minutes though; 30 - 45 minutes is usually my max.
