Default what does this mean?

Hey everyone, its been a week since I stopped bulking. I started doing Fat loss III along with a slight calorie deficeit and this morning i weighed in at 170 pounds. This isnt exactly what im going for. I was 180 a week ago. I was hoping to lose just a few pounds every week that way I thought maybe at 165 - 170, Id be very lean. But Apparently 10 pounds came off, and it didnt make a huge difference. I lost 2 inches off my waist which is good. But Im not sure if this is good? Can anyone shed some light?

Is this normal? It cant all be fat weight but Im certain its not muscle. I've been eating right and lifting very hard.

Fat and water?? I dont know

Thanks

You can vary water component a lot. Although to hit a ten pound loss, say two of them fat, maybe three, you would have to have had the former at a lot of water, and the second at a low water reading. Same scale?

I only weigh in at the gym at about noon, after morning ablutions, coffee and breakfast, a hard workout and the sauna, and shower. Not obsessive, its just the easiest time to use the SAME allegedly accurate scale, and consistent circumstances.

10 lb drop in a week seems quite unrealistic even if the workouts are quite grueling. i'm willing to bet it's due to waterweight, which can make your bodyweight fluctuate QUITE significantly - did you perhaps have more than usual salt-wise the day before? i wouldn't panic just yet - just keep your diet steadily clean and weight yourself a few more times at the same time/conditions and see you get a consistent reading.

i agree. it is quite unrealistic. I do not believe it was 10 pounds of fat, i figured water was the answer. but so much? my salt intake is generally the same everyday. I'll weigh myself a few more times this week and see what happens.

Default Rely on moving average.

If you search "the hacker diet" you will ran into a interresthing site, where you will have an excel file (free) that you can install on your computer.

If you enter your weight, for a full month, it will calculate your weight using moving average calculation (similar to evaluating trend for stock), if your weight jump, the "real" weight will only slightly be affected by it.

That "real" weight, is really your real weight (not influence by water retention, etc.).

I used that, since a couple of years, I weight myself every morning, but I trust the "real weight" that the Excel chart give me, better.

From what I've read, you should never go straight from a bulk to a cut. You are supposed to maintain your weight for at least a couple of weeks, then begin your cut. Otherwise, you run the risk of losing all the muscle you put on.

how much calories are you eating?

Are you eating low carb?(this will cause water weight loss)

Most Importantly, have you lost any strength, or are you maintaining your lifts or getting stronger?

im eating about 2400 calories. Its not a low carb diet. I get a good amount of carbs from veggies and a few pieces of ezekiel bread. I uped the weight on my lifts yesterday and it wasnt a problem. I feel stronger and I dont really think its muscle loss, at all.

Guess: Whenever I change my diet around, I immediatly drop a TON (sometimes it seems literally) of water.

Has your weightloss settled down since your initial big drop?

I had a similar experience. After I finished STI I took a weeklong break and then started FLIII. I lost about 8 lbs in the first week, but since then my weight loss has stabilized.
