Been lurking a long time just being a sponge with all of the great information and this is my first post.
Here is my dilemma.....I have been working out for a long time and have been fairly strong in the past. I have lived for the past 6 years with a serious, chronic liver disease that caused a TON of muscle atrophy and leaving me weak. I worked out during those 6 years to try and keep what muscle mass I could. In March of this year I had a liver transplant which left my core (the one thing that was still decent) a big tub of jello. I have been doing Verstegen's Core Performance workouts for about the past 3 months and my core is getting stronger. I am bored with the bodyweight workouts and want to get back to lifting. Do you think that going through break-in twice might get me more prepared both muscle-wise and endurance-wise to begin Strength I?
I would try it once, see how I feel, then decide. Trying to make that decision before actually doing it... having no idea how good/bad/whatever I'll feel at the end of one go at it... seems like a waste of time to me, when I might end up changing my mind on it.
I agree. Start. At the end of the Break-In period, talk to us again and we'll go from there. The concept of doing it twice in not a bad one, but I agree that you really can't make the decision yet.
