I frequently find myself "resting" on the gym floor for a bit before dragging myself to the showers. Particularly after the B workout in FL-II. Thing is, I don't see many other people this tired after their workouts.
Just wondering if you all end up completely fried like this.
At the end of FLII-B I would have to rest before I could even re-rack the weights on the Romanian DL/Bentover row combo at the end.
The hardest, though, may have been at the end of the Hypertropy-I workouts after doing high pulls on 3x15 day. Sent the heart/breath rates through the roof!

I'm finding FL2 Workout A much tougher than B but both leave me gasping for air by the end of the workout and supporting myself mostly on the handrail while descending the stairs to leave the gym. Those 45 second rests really seem to go by in an eyeblink.
I still find myself unable to do the FL workouts more than 2 times per week due to DOMS but I've been adding 2-3 days of intervals to keep my activity levels up. One thing I noticed since switching to 2 intense NROL workouts a week is that the strength increases are going up a lot faster than they were on 3-4 full body workouts per week on other programs.
If you do it more than twice a week you won't get the DOMS.

I hear ya Red. Just did FLII-B for the 1st time the other day and by the time I got to RDL/rows I was wacked. My bike ride home, which is uphill nearly the whole way, was "interesting" than usual.

Remember guys, the purpose of these workouts for fat loss is to create "afterburn." So you're burning, lol. If Craig tells you he's going to create "turbulence" or Alwyn tells you he's going to create "afterburn," then you better know that you're in for a very, very high puke factor workout. FLII-B has the highest puke factor of any workout I'm aware of. It's those compound lifts that sends it over the top.
A strength workout, even one with single rep sets will not make you feel this way.

Jack,
You're not alone. Fat Loss II-B laid me out the second time I did it. In fact, I couldn't finish...just laid on the floor for 5+ minutes! Since then I've been able to finish it without laying down, but as EdChap would say, "I'm knackered." (or is that "nackered"?)

Wow ... really looking forward to that!! I am in the middle of FL-I, and today was the first workout I couldn't do Metabolic Overdrive afterwards ... just felt weak and pukey!! (It's those darn Swiss Ball Lateral Rolls! ) I have been working out steadily for over a year, and today was the first workout where I felt that ... LOVE IT!!!! Really looking forward to FL-II and -III (not being sarcastic either!!) ...
I've been doing full body supersets on my own for 6 months before I picked up nrol. After the break in, I went straight to FL2, inspired by the example in the book.
FL2B leaves me sucking wind as if I never lifted before. Like you, I just lay there on the mat after doing the twists and just suck air. One of the hardest work outs I've ever done. LOVE IT!
I guarantee if you're doing nrol, there aren't many people working in the gym as hard as you are. You're definitely getting your monies worth out of your membership!
If you do it more than twice a week you won't get the DOMS.
Tried that twice when I was still hurting from previous workouts in FL1 and it didn't work out and I wasn't able to get through half of the workout. There is something to be said for being able to function properly in day to day life outside of the gym so that idea doesn't work for me (yet anyways). I'm sure my body will adapt to the compound movements and low rest times over time and then I'll happily step it up.
I just did FL2 w/o B today as well.... it half KILLED me. I love it! I don't remember the last time I worked this hard. I had better be damned sore tomorrow!
FL2 B was insane the first time. The following workouts were more tolerable mentally, but still left me sick. One of my colleagues has been doubting the effectiveness of more reps for fat loss as opposed to higher intensity/lower reps so she is doing a two month comparison between FL 1 and a 10x3 type of workout. Needless to say, she is almost dead every time after FL1 and I see her foam rolling in despair at the end.
I love pushing myself. I find it wild I am getting stronger as I go along with FL workouts and while I am not losing weight, I can feel the fat go away

No words of comfort, you wussies. FLII-B is a challenge, but I did it, sweat like hell, put everything away, climb the basement stairs and get ready for work. Haven't checked, but maybe you are pushing bigger numbers, so that would explain the extra pain.

Several times in FL2 and for the first several FL3 I had to rest/rest longer than the directions. I did drop weights a little in FL3, and by the end I could get through them. But no intervals after 3.
Whenever I did a serious workout for the first time (back in February 2004), I almost passed out trying to get it done. I went to bed right afterwards and fell asleep right away. I did the same workout a second time just kicked up a notch two days later, and it left me with more of a "I'm tired as hell, but damn I feel good" feeling (which is the way almost every exercise past the first was). It's pretty cool the way and untrained body can adapt to actually being put under stress so quickly.
Hypertrophy I workout B. Oh man. The feeling after that workout is not nice at all. But the next day I feel great.
LOL the next day I have trouble walking. Especially after 3x15. That is one brutal workout...

Just got back from my last few FL2 workouts. I can positively say I've gotten stronger, but it doesn't matter how many times I do this workout I'm planted on a rubber mat afterwards breathing heavier than If I did 30 minutes of HIIT. I take N.O. Xplode to help me get through the workouts nowadays and I've been playing with my nutrition to make sure I'm bringing all the energy I have to the workout.

You'll get used to it. 3 x 15 is a nice compact 40 minute workout. When you are done, you really feel you have accomplished something.
I feel I've accomplished something, but I also feel like my legs are going to fall off!

Did Fat Loss II B the second time today and it sure as hell didn't get any easier!
I bumped the loads up a bit and after the last set was left laying on the sweat-soaked pad not able to get up for a few seconds.
Feels awesome

I just did my first FL-II B workout yesterday, and although afterward I had the coordination and energy needed to head to the locker room, shower, and walk home, once home I began to get very, very heavy-tired--more so than with any of the Break-In WOs or FL-II A.
My body, my mind, my being--everything got so tired that I found it hard to sleep (I work out at night), and I was incredibly hungry. I didn't eat before I went to bed--I'd had my quota of cals for the day--but I've spent practically the whole day today eating--cottage cheese, egg whites, clean stuff. But even when my stomach was full, I still felt "empty." And although I'd planned on metabolic overdrive today, there was no way.
I am truly fried! I hope, as Galya says, that I'll get used to it as I do more of them.
I too would love any advice/info on a good pre/during/post-WO drink that will maintain my energy and feed my muscles. Not more than I need for continuing fat loss, though: I'm 5'2" and 103 lbs. So I obviously don't need as much as a 5'11" 190-lb. guy. But I'd sure like to latch on to something that will sustain me. Right now, I sip a post-WO Whey-to-Go (Solgar) drink.
Tomorrow is workout A, round #2: I hope the day off gives me the needed rest!
Maybe you should ask your PW drink question in the Diet forum where it will get more attention.
Good luck with the rest of NROL FL workouts. I know you read my log so you know how I feel after FL 2.
