Default SBCWMBT - Lou? Alwyn?

I have discovered that I have no free wall in my basement to do the Swiss Ball Crunch With Medicine Ball Throw.

Is there any suitable replacement for this exercise?

I could throw the cat, since she is softer and would not damage anything, but I think she might object.

I know you'll want to hear from the famous guys, but how about a med ball slam to the floor? Works best with the kind of med ball that doesn't bounce, lol. They're fun too.

What she said. Planet smashes! I had to take off my glasses to learn them -- the back of my brain was CERTAIN the ball was going to come up off the floor and hit my nose no matter what the thinking part said. My abs were good and worked after that session, too.

You don't need to throw anything. You can just do the movement with a heavy object.

Or, if you want to get really tricky, you could do it with bands attached to something behind you.

You could also toss something straight overhead and catch it on the way down. That certainly adds an interesting element of hand-eye coordination.

Thanks, Lou.
I think I will use the heavy object, much like I described in my log. The overhead toss sounds like fun and I will give it a try. I will let you know if I break my nose.

John, I've said it before and I'll say it again: That overhead cinder-block toss is a bad idea.

And this is one instance in which I would encourage using gloves ... baseball gloves.
