Default Game Plan for Guy 2-1/2-ish

I'm back "serious" lifting after a ten year break.

Back in February, I started doing "Big Moves" 3x/week with "light film of sweat" aerobics three days.

As I've posted elsewhere, I was doing 3x6 working up to 3x10 on:
Leg Drive (Lunge)
Pull (Wide lats)
Push (Bench)
Crunch
Twist

That from an older book that lumped Squat and Lunge and their variations together, and put deadlift in with pulls.

Following NRoL's advice, I took a week off, and I'm considering myself a "beginner" and "seriously overweight" but NOT qualified as "serious about lifting" yet, imo.

Like I said, I'm kinda Guy 2-1/2

What I think I'm doing is this:

Four weeks of 2/wk Breakin with Metabolic Overdrive.
Three weeks of 3/wk Fat Burn I w/ Metabolic Overdrive.

No break, 'cuz 7 weeks puts me up to when we're gonna be moving, so that will be my week or two off. Just so you know I'm not COMPLETELY nuts.

Two weeks off, then Fat Burn II w/ Metabolic Overdrive.

I figure I have a six week base of doing "Big Move" lifts, but need to get accustomed to the sheer VOLUME of the NRoL workouts. My soreness tells me that 2/wk is about right for now...

Any thoughts?

It sounds like you're doing things the right way.
