Just swinging by the house in between transitions. There is a long bike leg going on right now. The early morning orienteering/get bloody and muddy race had a 2 hour limit. Joe came in at just under 1 1/2 hours and was out again pretty quickly, smiling. He's doing great! Watch out if you're riding the NLR river trail this morning!

yup ODB was Rockin the morning away. He was 4th out on to the water after the bike section and staye there coming in for the last leg, another b*&^ of a land nav. I knew it must be tough when teams that I knew of and the couple of solos that we both know that were ahead of joe all morning started coming back in to the TA shaking their heads and asking for more water. Damn. Joe came in after a couple of hours and said he was having a lot of trouble seeing the markers. Don't know if it was his color blindness or just not having more than one pair of eyes to look at the map and look for markers since he has no trouble seeing them when it's dark. We'll have to wait and see, he worked really hard and came in about 5:30p.m. out of water again. Sleeping it off now. Obviously my crazy butt is out bed though.

This is what happens when he leaves his computer logged on to JPs 24/7, he gets impersonated.

Okay, here is the scoop:
Quote:
It seems that every adventure race I learn something new about the sport and myself. This race was no exception. I’ve done Raid the Rock four times now only missing the third year. This year they opened it up to soloists. I decided to go this way mainly because I wanted to test myself against the race without having to adjust my abilities for other team members. I wanted to go at my pace and see what I got. I got a bit more than thought I’d get.
The Race was to start at 5:00 am at Cooks Landing in North Little Rock. No gunshot, no start flag, no ready, set, go. They handed out a zip-loc bag with our map, passport and instructions. I ran back to the truck and due to the confusion of the start actually got there before Lisa could get there. Lisa would be providing me support throughout the day and was already showing that she wished she were racing rather than supporting. This is something that most support crews don’t understand until they have done a few races.
