Jun 5, 2004 The Southern Tour of 04’ Adventure Race Series Tulsa, OK
"Sprint Distance" 2-4 hour Adventure Races are the perfect distance for teams new to the sport, as well as experienced teams who prefer the shorter “Push it to the Max” course distance. Categories are 2-Person teams of, Male, Female, or Co-Ed. The actual course layout and distances are not revealed until the race start, but usually consist of: Trail Running (2-3 miles) Mountain Biking (7-10 miles) Kayaking (1-2 miles) and should take the average team about 2:30 to complete. We provide the boats, paddles, and you provide a trail capable bike, running shoes, and a willing team mate. Cost for early registration is still only $55/person. A portion of the race proceeds go to The Juvenile Diabetes Association. More info may be found at www.HavingFunInc.com or 405-822-2877

Jun 5, 2004 Toyota Tundra Adventure Racing Series #2: FURY AT FORT DE SOTO Fort De Doto, FL (Fort De Soto Park)
2004 will be our second year at Ft. De Soto. With just one year at this location under our belt, Fort. De Soto has several areas that our athletes have yet to see. What you can expect from this course is a flat bike, tough kayaking, and strong running. Be sure to leave your cell phones at home because we promise that you will get wet at this one!
Combining the sports of mountain biking, trail running, kayaking and a number of surprise “special” tests at each race, the TTARS has matured into the largest and most respected short-course Adventure Racing Series in the Southeast. The “sprint” distance format ensures that teams and individuals finish each race in 2-4 hours (1-2.5 hrs for Super-Sprint Division), making them manageable for first timers and novice adventure racers, yet challenging enough for experienced racers.

Jun 5, 2004 - Jun 6, 2004 REI California Desert Classic Anza Borrego SP, San Diego County
After a fantastic weekend of course recon, we have decided to mix things up a little more for the 2004 REI Desert Classic. There will be NO PADDLING in this event. We are expecting beautiful weather for this night race. The average night time temperature for June 6-7 in the area is between 65-75 degrees. With the full moon and the temperatures in the 70’s, this event will allow you to experience the desert in ways you could never have imagined. When it comes to amazing adventure racing experiences, this event will take the top of your list. You will ride through deeps gorges and desert canyons, trek across the vast desert, and climb the desert peaks to complete this event by sun up and the race end party and breakfast. We have varied the bike section, extended the trek, and added some great canyoneering (no ropes will be needed though a good sense of direction will be helpful!) You will be trekking between 12-16 miles, mountain biking between 15-20 miles, and canyoneering/scrambling through out this event.
This event will traverse the beautiful Ocotillo Wells and Anza Borrego Desert State Parks. We will be having a separate GPS category for those of you who are not ready to navigate the desert with map and compass alone. Remember we have reduced our registration fee to $150 per person or $75 per person for the team relay. For more information, visit www.AdventureEvents.com.
